Buhr the Boneless
Ah, you want to know about me? Good, good, I will indulge you on this. As no secret about is too dear not to share, and of course, sharing never made a good secret...
I was born eight hundred and twelve years ago, in a hull, yes, in the Hull, but also in a modest hull of a sunken ship. I consider myself a double-hullian... I was unaware of my name at that time and that this particular ship had treasure of a quite potent kind in its wares.
I remember vaguely, my days were spent on the search for the odd crustacean. Lunch and snacks catched most of my minds eye. Until one day I found a dead corpse that I thought might still be edible, while nibbling on the stranger I slipped one of my eight tentacles into a very fine ring that fell from his finger, and then I awakened! I was illuminated in a sense so bewildering I immediately knew I would never be the same again. And I was right, as usual... In fact, the only time I've been wrong, was that one time I thought I was wrong and then I really wasn't...
... As I was saying. From the sunken ship, I learned many things, I found a magic book uncorrupted by water and it taught me it's meanings. I also found many other wonders under the ships decks, the Noriander was its name. But soon realized there was not enough of the world there. So off I went to see the known world and find more knowledge.
Down the shafts of The Dron and into the Works. I established myself there and made friends and enemies, as someone like me must have. Soon I was finding treasures and seeking lore beyond the hullian dream, all the knowledge of the universe is somewhere hidden, all I had to do was find it and put it on like this ring I'm wearing.
I've since given back to the world that made me (and occasionally tried to kill me), I've become a keeper of lore, a bibliographer, a cartographer, mathematician and artificer amongst other things.
But enough about me. Who are you? If you are a lore seeker you can come visit me, the road to my humble abode is not easy, but if you find it you will always find a welcome within.
