The Hags triff

This triff has been long left alone because of the hag covens that live in it. There are rumors of a hag queen that keeps all the covens in the triff in constant turmoil to keep her place of power. She is said to live in a frozen cave high above the central shard of the triff. Other lesser hags inhabit the forests and caves below the queens cave, they cooperate only out of fear of the queen and are constantly trying to steal power from one another.

Besides the shard covered in caves that display fires at night, the center of the triff features a steep hill called the festering mound where witches of power gather to practice abyssal rituals.

Other sylvan inhabit this dense primal forest, mostly giant apes with white hair covered in moss and mushrooms, and undead trees that hate the living and adorn their branches with their hanging bodies.

Not all good has been lost in this triff though, powers older than the hags themselves still linger in the dense forest, caring and nurturing for the beings that survive here.
